The bank claims it is the first solution available on the Belgian market that makes contactless payments possible with Bancontact.


Amadeus and Ingenico are to launch Amadeus Airport Pay.  http://tinyurl.com/yb6duh8a

The mobile solution can support multiple airlines, ground handlers and banks in any airport globally, independently of the check-in infrastructure. Lufthansa Group will roll out the payment solution in over 170 airports worldwide starting in June 2017.


Visa Inc, following MasterCard’s launch of its B2B Hub last week, has announced the launch of the Visa Ready Program for Business Solutions. http://tinyurl.com/yamotsth

The program provides a strategic framework to help technology companies that integrate with Visa’s B2B payment services and data solutions ensure that they meet Visa’s standards and are market ready. The service allows partners to quickly introduce devices, software and solutions that can initiate or accept Visa payments including virtual cards, accounts payable automation and data analytics.

The solution will support instant payments through the SWIFT network, providing a single gateway to connect seamlessly to multiple instant payments systems. It will be available by November 2018.

The main driver is growth in mobile internet usage through smartphones and tablets. Erste is to expand its platform into its CEE markets over the next few years.

The solution proactively detects and prioritises compromised merchants and data breaches involving card data and integrates with the FICO® Falcon® Platform. It uses existing FICO Falcon data and applies advanced analytics and graph analytics to detect fraud.


Monzo is requiring some customers to provide additional identity verification to meet AML rules. http://tinyurl.com/yak2mk6f

The requirement only affects about 10% of Monzo users, who have been using its base level of verification.



WorldRemit has integrated Android Pay into its platform.  http://tinyurl.com/y7kale7g

The move will enable Android Pay users to send money to mobile money accounts accessible via its network using only 5 taps.


Social payments fintech Circle has announced users can send and receive cross-border payments with no fees and no forex mark-up. http://tinyurl.com/ybyv96en

The offer covers payments sent to or from the US, UK, Spain and Ireland and 15 other European countries. Circle is using the Ethereum blockchain platform for its Spark technology that enables wallet-to-wallet transactions within and across currencies. Circle states  that it does not believe there is a revenue model for domestic or cross border consumer payments, and is not trying to generate any revenue from those payments. https://www.circle.com/en-gb

The deal puts a value of £70m on Monitise and is anticipated to close in Q3/17. The acquisition is expected to accelerate implementation of the Fiserv digital strategy and the development of a next-generation digital banking platform by leveraging the Monitise portfolio of digital solutions.

The move, engineered by Vista Equity Partners, will create a diversified global financial software provider that claims to be the third largest financial services technology company in the world.



The Berlin Group NextGenPSD2 Taskforce has announced the creation of an open, common and harmonised European standard to enable TPPs to access bank accounts under PSD2.  http://tinyurl.com/y7ru4w2p

The standard, which is still under development, will be presented to the market for consultation after the summer.
