B+S Card Service and PAYONE, which were both owned by DSV Group of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, only announced their merger in May.
Although US Commerce bank is involved the other players are banks from South Korea, the Philippines and Singapore. Visa says it is planning a commercial launch in mid-2018. The platform seeks to ease cross-border payments by facilitating direct payments between institutions, cutting out intermediaries. The trial follows a similar move from Amex reported recently.

The bank combines technology in the phone and data stored in the biometrical passport with its own systems.
