Fans will load their contactless tickets into their Apple Wallet and also be able to use Apple Pay to buy food and beverages. The ‘electronic delivery’ system will be available for ticket purchases from 12 December for the England/Italy match on in March 2018.

The move is aimed at enabling the banks to fend off competition from global fintechs.

Users link their PayPal account to Acorns and can then set-up a recurring or one-time investment funded from their PayPal account.

Users connect their Yoyo account to their Starling account from the Yoyo app and allow Yoyo to view their Starling account transactions. This enables the collection of loyalty points whenever the Starling card, ApplePay or Fitbit Pay is used at a merchant partner.

The start-up claims to be the world’s first digital money platform for consumers, businesses and merchants, connecting the whole payments value chain and focusing on the integration of services, open architecture, and blockchain incorporation in order to provide a single interface for its customers. First Data will support payments for in-store, online, and mobile transactions from a new Nexo central acceptance platform. The deal is part of First Data’s push to expand in its EMEA Region.

The Samsung Pass technology will allow BBVA customers with Samsung-compatible smartphones to log on to the bank’s Spanish mobile banking app by looking at their displays.

The investment values Transfermate at between €250m and €300m. A strategic partnership will focus on providing Irish businesses with international payments and receivables capabilities.


The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung is reporting that BS Payone is being put up for sale – there was a Savings Banks Board meeting on Monday – with a number of parties said to be interested. Names being mentioned are Concardis, First Data, Ingenico and others.

B+S Card Service and PAYONE, which were both owned by DSV Group of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, only announced their merger in May.



Visa is trialling its Visa B2B Connect corporate cross-border B2B payments blockchain platform in the Far East. http://tinyurl.com/y8t9r7e9

Although US Commerce bank is involved the other players are banks from South Korea, the Philippines and Singapore. Visa says it is planning a commercial launch in mid-2018. The platform seeks to ease cross-border payments by facilitating direct payments between institutions, cutting out intermediaries. The trial follows a similar move from Amex reported recently.
