Merchant Acquiring Conference 2018

14th November 2018, Glaziers Hall, London

The 8th PSE Merchant Acquiring Conference took place on 14th November 2018. The event was designed to highlight the major trends affecting European acquiring and provide unique insights into developments in the current market.

We discussed the evolution of the acceptance offer to the wider enterprise community by tapping into experts from across the European payments landscape. A one page view of PSE’s perspectives on the emerging acceptance proposition can be found in the infographic below.

We had a great set of speakers from the following organisations:

  • Payment Systems Regulator talked about their proposed UK market review into card-acquiring services and their draft terms of reference
  • Klarna talked about the death of the four party model
  • Citi outlined their perspectives on integrating bank originated instant credit into the Open Banking API environment
  • Crown Commercial Services (UK Government Procurement) reviewed their new approach to payments, including the role of PISP for tax payments in the UK
  • Fractal on the opportunity presented by Open Banking to create a platform economy and growth for payments
  • Abrantix are looking to discuss machine testing of physical PEDs
  • Bambora discussing how to better serve the needs of SME customers across Europe
  • Featurespace who talked about the use of machine learning to identify fraud within acquiring portfolios
  • Truelayer who talked about their experiences over the past 9 months of Open Banking
  • PSE Consulting outlined their view on the impact of regulatory innovation on cards. A blog can be found here

The conference was designed by industry thought leaders for industry thought leaders. We don’t ask speakers to pay, and we ensure there are no sales pitches.
