Most have a pressing need for new concepts and functionality to support new payments methods and deliver instore and online innovation. Case study 1
European DIY Merchant Subsidiary
Objective:
Assist a subsidiary of a European DIY merchant in developing their vision and strategy for a new payments gateway architecture for its core corporate and retail customers.
Approach:
This was a highly complex and technical assignment which included an assessment of the current platform, the definition of requirements, the development of a Target Architecture Model (TAM), the construction of an RFP and support in evaluating, scoring and shortlisting of supplier submissions. The study involved close working with a very large team of technical and operational staff and Group Purchasing and the construction of a TCO model as part of the business case.
Result:
A target architecture and a migration plan were developed. The RFP was circulated to seven suppliers who were evaluated against 50 key decision criteria. A preferred and a backup vendor were selected for commercial negotiations.

Fraud and the dark web
Objective
To support a global digital media provider in selecting a dark web monitoring partner
Approach
PSE undertook a wide ranging review of suppliers who asses the dark web in order to identify and priorities potential companies for an RFP. PSE then managed the RFP process including:
- Requirements definition
- 3 year cost of ownership analysis
- Supplier credential validation/interviews
- Supplier presentations and Q&A’s
- Weighted response analysis and client feedback
- Final recommendations
Result
The client selected the supplier with the best fit to their requirements and subsequently substantially reduced their dark web risk exposure.
