- Dutch fintech Fero has launched personalisation e-commerce tool in the UK, Checkout Companion, for Shopify-based businesses.
ISSUING
- Enfuce brings 2-in-1 debit and credit card to UK, France and Germany. The E2 Mastercard card gives users both credit and debit PANs in one piece of plastic with one PIN. Cardholders can set their default payment depending on preference, and then instantly switch between the two at the point of sale.
- Juniper Research predicts that global revenue from modern card issuance will increase from $1.2 billion in 2024 to more than $2.8 billion by 2029; driven by the rising digitalisation of payments and growing demand for quick card activation. The report defines Thales, G+D, FIS, Fiserv and IDEMIA as the leading vendors.
LITIGATION
- FCA charges individual for operating unregistered crypto ATMs. The ATMs in question allow users to purchase or exchange money for cryptoassets. Unregistered machines were operated across several locations, facilitating GBP 2.6 million in cryptocurrency transactions between 29 December 2021, and 8 September 2023.
OPEN BANKING & PSD2
- Stripe to use Truelayer as Open Banking partner in the UK. The collaboration will now support Stripe’s Pay by Bank feature across its UK payment products.

- Klarna Bank has been criticised by the Swedish FSA for failing to adequately deal with money laundering risks.

- Mastercard agrees to buy Recorded Future for $2.65bn from Insight Partners. Mastercard says the acquisition will boost its fraud prevention, real-time decisioning and cybersecurity services in the payments ecosystem and beyond.
