The UK embedded payments market has doubled in size since 2024, with SaaS platforms twice as effective at getting their message across to merchants, and merchants equally likely to take an offer.

Embedded finance remains one of the most important change drivers in payment acceptance. PSE has undertaken 500+ interviews with UK SMBs to understand how their use of embedded finance is changing. This builds upon the extensive research undertaken in 2024.

Here are a few early highlights from our analysis:

• The UK embedded payments market has DOUBLED in size since 2024: 23% of the UK SMBs we interviewed now take an embedded finance offer from one of their SaaS platforms, up from 11% in 2024

• UK SaaS platforms have almost DOUBLED their market reach: 46% of the SMBs we spoke to have been offered an embedded finance service by one of their SaaS platforms, compared to 22% in 2024

• UK SMBs are still STRONGLY INTERESTED in embedded finance: 50% of SMBs who participated in our research accepted offers from their SaaS platform, which remains the same as the level of take-up (of 51%) in 2024
